On MLK Day, Americans celebrate the life and achievements of American Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King Jr.

King sought to achieve equality and end racial injustice through his philosophy of commencing in non-violent protests. King was behind the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the 1963 March on Washington, and he helped bring about the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. His legacy lives on to this day as he is honored with the fight for civil rights.
