Wildcat Cheer comes together as one

Morgan McCoy, Sports Editor and Social Media Manager

Wildcat Cheerleading had the opportunity to cheer as one in a basketball game against Franklin Heights on Feb. 12.

Due to the boy’s basketball quarantine, the Junior Varsity Basketball team played in a Varsity game. This gave South Cheer the opportunity to come together as one.

Both the JV and Varsity Cheerleading teams took the court to cheer on the ‘Cats.

In a typical year, there are several games where the entire program has the opportunity to cheer together. Due to restrictions, the team was not able to do so this year.

Another restriction on the season was that the Cheerleaders were not able to travel to away games. However, that changed when the post-season began.

Wildcat cheer welcomed the Warriors of Westerville North on February 26 and traveled to Hillard Bradley on February 23 where their season ended for the 2020-2021 school year.

Tryouts for the 2021-2022 season will begin with a preseason meeting on April 20 and clinics and tryouts will be May 18-21.
