Freshman Spotlight: Ama Twumwaa

Freshman Ama Twumwaa is eager to learn and participate in many different activities at Westerville South High School. As a freshman in high school, Twumwaa describes her high school experience so far as fun and exciting.
Twumwaa describes the academic shift from middle school to high school as difficult. “The workload is a lot bigger than in middle school, and the pace is a lot faster since I take all honors courses. In high school a lot more is expected from you than in middle school”.
When asked about her least favorite part of highschool, Twumwaa said “The crowded hallways and the smell of marijuana,I have a headache from the marijuana smell in the bathroom”
As for friends, Twumwaa said, “I have no problem with making friends. I have already made so many new friends and long lasting friendships.”
Twumwaa is involved in many clubs and activities such as orchestra, the Black History Month Show, Key Club, Hope Squad, library assistant, and Theatre. Twumwaa is specifically a part of the theater crew team for the upcoming show, “Bright Star”.
Outside of school, Twumwaa is an avid reader and enjoys reading realistic fiction and fantasy series with a hint of romance. Her favorite series is “Selection Series” by Kiera Cass.Twumwaa is also a Kpop fan and enjoys watching Kpop Dramas.
Twumwaa wants to work as a therapist in the future.
