Join Spanish teacher Marisol Salcedo on a trip to Peru. The flight will take off on June 6 and arrive back in the States on June 16, 2024.

Anyone aged 13 and up is welcome. Graduates of 2023 can join and have the potential to earn college credit.

Westerville City Schools uses Educational Tours to plan and promote international excursions.

The trip to Peru will cost $4,800. This includes flights, hotels, transportation, local guides, etc. From the website, Westerville World Wide, it is recommended that you bring a credit card to avoid the chance of losing your money or dealing with foreign currency.

“The trip is an overall experience, and you learn how to be responsible,” said Salcedo.

While on the trip travelers will visit Machu Picchu and hike the Amazon River.

“I am excited to see Machu Picchu, the Amazon River, and exotic animals,” said Freshman Tatum Randall who will be going on the Peru trip.

Randall is currently taking Spanish two, so she will be able to use the language she has been studying.

Junior Katy Mowery took an Educational Tours trip to Europe in the summer of 2022. Mowery is grateful for the wonderful people she met on the trip.

“This was an amazing opportunity for me to safely travel the world by myself,” said Mowery.

Salcedo ensures that safety is a huge priority of the company. Educational Tours has offices all around the world.

When packing for the trip Mowery recommends bringing nice comfortable walking shoes, comfortable clothes for all weather, and an adapter for charging ports.

Sign up by visiting the district website, Westerville World Wide, or visit Salcedo before February 2024.
