WSHS Culture Club Hosts First Tasting Event

Members of the club attentively wait for another bingo card to be called. Senior Malak Elbayed said students should “Join the club to get a view of other people’s culture.”

On Oct. 16, International Culture Club (ICC) hosted its “Taste of Mexico” in the media center, where junior Mark Chavez shared his culture.

South’s ICC has incorporated a new format for their meetings this year; students in the club can sign-up to present about their own country or culture at one of the biweekly meetings. Dubbed “Taste of Culture,” these meetings happen on Wednesdays.

This idea was brought forward by the club leaders to help with organization and let the club members work towards more than just the annual Culture Fair.
