Oprah Winfrey has become one of the most well known talk-show hosts because of her dedication and positive view on life. Winfrey was born in 1954, in rural Missouri to her teenage mother. After growing up in poverty, Winfrey scored a job as one of the first black and female news anchors on Nashville’s popular WTVF-TV (according to this article by The Guardian)
She hopped around from TV-Shows to movies, before acquiring her own show known as “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Over the show’s 25 year reign, it was a total success and Winfrey became one of the richest black women in the 21st century (according to this Forbes article). Today, she runs a podcast named The Oprah Winfrey Show: The Podcast, and continues to spread her positivity and helps with issues going on around the world.
Oprah Winfrey, when asked about her biggest regret, states it was how she ended her successful TV show. Oprah followed that regret with a quote regarding how she is getting older, and she said, “There is a sense of knowing there isn’t as much time left, and I am at peace with that knowing.” (Yahoo Life)
