Jane Bolin was a person who broke through many barriers as she became the first African-American Women to graduate from Yale Law school in 1931; and eight years later,she also became the first American-American female to be appointed as a judge in the United States.
Before law school, Bolin graduated from Wellesley College as she was one of two black students who graduated.. Bolin would later follow her father’s steps as she went to Yale Law School and became the first African-American female to graduate. When Bolion turned 31 years old, she was appointed by the mayor of New York as a judge at the city’s Domestic Relations Court .
