Warhawk to Wildcat

Sophomore Delaney Weimer transferred to Westerville South High School from Westerville Central High School at the end of freshman year as she “needed a fresh start and to meet new people.”

Compared to Central, Weimer believes that it is far simpler to strike up a conversation with South students than it was with others she had attended school with for many years.

“Being able to meet new individuals is always beneficial,” Weimer said. “South has a much better atmosphere. Everyone is so pleasant,” Weimer continued.

Weimer has been playing softball for nine years; she plans to participate on the Wildcats’ softball team this season as an outfielder or second base. She enjoys creating bonds and making memories with her teammates that will last a lifetime.

Weimer doesn’t really mind having her father, math teacher Bobby Weimar, work at South.  She said she finds it “fun to have him around” because she knows she can always turn to him when she’s feeling down or bothered by something.

Weimer plans to attend college in order to pursue her career goal in medicine.
