Last Friday on Aug.29, Westerville South celebrated the rivalry between South and Westerville Central with the first pep rally of the year. South cheerleaders and student section leaders led the rally and hyped the crowd. A particular highlight of the pep rally was the teacher vs student volleyball game. Initially the teachers seemed the obvious winner with a leading score; however, the students had a last minute comeback. The final score was 25-19, with a student victory.
Football season is in full throttle; and from the sidelines, the Wildcat cheerleaders are pushing their team to victory. Senior cheerleaders Roan Stacy (left) Journee Hartgrove (middle) and Charmayne Moore (right) were getting peppy at the pep rally on Aug. 29.
WSHS color guards’ hard work is on display every Friday night, with the visual impact they create to accompany the marching band’s half-time show. They performed a snippet from their routine at the pep assembly. “It’s where I found confidence, lifelong friendships and a new way to express myself,” junior Lennon Daniels said. (Jocelyn Hartings)
