Volleyball
On Tuesday, Sept. 2, Westerville South Varsity girls volleyball team took home the win against Westerville North with victories in all three sets. They continued their winning streak on Thursday, Sept. 4, when they took home another victory against Delaware Hayes.
Football
On the gridiron on Friday, Sept. 5, the football team traveled to St. Charles and took home a narrow 7-0 win with Senior, Evan Andrews completing the only touchdown of the game, which was a 45-yard bomb, to Senior, Isaac Patterson in the 2nd quarter.
Cross Country
On Saturday, Sept. 6, the Wildcat Cross Country team traveled to Watkins Memorial for the McGowan Invitational. Juniors, Willis Guard-Batchelder and Chase Crawford led the pack for the Wildcats with times of 15:54 and 16:12. Guard-Batchelder now holds the second fastest time in school history, and Crawford the fourth fastest in school history since 2006.
In the girls’ race, the Wildcats placed seven runners among the top 20 times recorded since 2008. Leading these times were sophomore Katelyn Hogenbirk, whose 19:29 ranks second all-time, followed closely by senior Sofie Loftin with 19:33 in third, and sophomore Lily Zappin with 19:36 in fourth. Senior Ziriah Johnson added a strong 20:28 for eighth place, while junior Melina Sahadevan’s 20:42 put her in 13th. Rounding out the group, freshman Evgenia Pistolas clocked 20:50 for 16th, and freshman Emery Strong secured 20th with a 21:08.
Soccer
Over on the soccer field that same day, the girls Varsity Soccer team went to Centennial High School and dominated with a 9-0 victory. Sophomore Catherine Rife had a hat-trick with three goals. Sophomore Addison Crum contributed another two goals. Senior Laney Colvin, juniors Lydia Battles, Anastasia Michalek, and Keira Ziemnik each contributed one goal.
