Born on April 10, 1930, Dolores Huerta is an activist from the Chicano Movement, who fought for Hispanic labor rights. Although she initially graduated with a teaching degree, she soon moved to activism, seeing firsthand the condition of farmworker’s children. In 1955, Huerta founded the Stockholm chapter of the Community Service Organization (CSO) and Agricultural Workers Association. She and Ceasar Chavez founded United Farm Workers (UFW) and organized the Delano Grape Strike in 1965.
